Complete Product Redesign for Running Coaching Platform

Platform and app redesigned to improve the experience of athletes, coaches, and running coaching groups.

Challenge

Runy is a platform aimed at sports consulting groups, connecting coordinators, coaches, and athletes in a single digital ecosystem.

Despite already having a consolidated user base, the product suffered from a highly outdated experience. The interface was unintuitive, flows were complex, and the platform faced significant challenges regarding user retention and acquiring new coaching groups.

Additionally, the product needed to cater to distinct user profiles — administrators, coordinators, coaches, and athletes — each with different needs, permissions, and journeys, making the project even more complex.

The challenge was to transform this entire experience into a modern, intuitive, and scale-ready product.

Solution

MDN conducted a complete redesign of the product experience, encompassing both the web platform and the athletes' mobile app.

The main advancements included:

Scalable Design System

We created a complete Design System, based on reusable components and design tokens, ensuring visual consistency and scalability for future product evolutions.

New onboarding journeys

We completely redesigned the user entry flows, including:

• Registration

• Profile

• Anamnesis

• Body composition

• Payment (Paywall)

The goal was to reduce friction right from the first interactions with the platform.

Strategic dashboard for coaching groups

Coordinators now benefit from a centralized view of the business, gathering key metrics such as:

• Active athletes

• Coaching team

• Monthly revenue

• Events

• Financial management

• Operational metrics

Simplified management

We created new flows for registering and managing entities using intuitive modals, making tasks like adding athletes, coaches, and workouts much faster.

Coach experience

The coach's area was completely reorganized with:

• Workout calendar

• Weekly planning

• Organization by athlete

• Simplified exercise registration

• Intensity control

• Performance feedback

• Fatigue level

• Athletes' progress

Athlete app

The app gained a much more modern, organized, and intuitive experience, facilitating the tracking of workouts, evaluations, and sporting progress.
